Thoughts While Looking at Airplanes

Airplanes. They are constantly coming and going. I know this because, until recently, I lived near the Orlando International Airport. I can’t tell you how many planes fly into and out of Orlando on a daily basis (sitting here, at least 4 planes have gone by and it’s been less than 10 minutes).

Recently I wondered where all those people are going and where they could be coming from. Are they here for vacation? Coming home from a trip? Coming to check out UCF? Are they going on vacation? Going back home? Going to a job interview because they are moving?

I then turned the questions onto myself: where have I been and where am I going?

I am constantly trying to learn and grow in order to become the best version of myself. I also don’t want to leave this earth with my song still inside. I want to become the person who is calm in all situations. So I have started a daily meditation practice. I want to be strong in both body and mind. So I am following, reading, and listening to people who encourage me to workout when I don’t feel like it and who offer a new perspective than the one I am used to.

I want to become one who encourages others to live their truth. So I have started this blog and am consistent with it (even in the middle of a move where I have to go to Starbucks to get an internet connection). I want to expand my network, kick my comfort zone’s ass, and be unafraid to be who I am. So I recently went to improve lessons at the library.

I want to be a woman of integrity. I am no longer dwelling on the sadness or mistakes of my past but I acknowledge them for the lessons they have given me.

This is where I am going.

This is what I want you to think about today: Where are you going? What do you want to do/be/experience in your life? We only get this one life and it is up to us to decide the direction we are walking.

We cannot become distracted by our minds giving up on us, telling us to quit when it seems too hard. We cannot listen to our friends and family when they tell us that our dreams are too crazy to manifest.

Airplanes were once considered crazy too.

We have the power within us.
