A Time to Pause

The past couple weeks have been amazing and weird. I feel like my routine is off due to the holidays. On top of that, I feel I have been pushing way too many things I’ve been wanting to accomplish off to the side. With this upcoming week things should go back to normal. But what if I don’t want normal? What if I want something else, something different?

It’s a new decade; a new year. While on the one side, it’s just another day, on the other side it feels momentous. This time of year is a good time to re-examine our lives and decide what changes we want to make. I feel like I need to stop and shed things that no longer serve me. The older I get the more I find who I really am underneath old layers of protection.

It feels like it’s been forever since I’ve taken the time to journal or just to dream and for that reason I’m going to be taking a break from this blog for the next couple weeks. Even though I only produce a blog post once a week, I feel like the original intent of Song of Your Heart has been lost and, while that’s not a bad thing, I haven’t taken the time to figure out what it actually is now.

I hope time spent with your loved ones this holiday season was full of joy. But if you are feeling the need to take a break or a step back for a moment know that it’s perfectly understandable. Sometimes we need a pause on life. Whether that’s 5 minutes, 5 hours, or 5 days, I hope you are able to take a moment to reflect.
